Common Questions...

  • What is the Softap Method?
The Softap Hand Method is a technique used to manually apply pigment into the skin.  There is no machinery or electrical devices involved, the process is very controlled, gentle and safe and results are more natural.
Note:  There are many technicians still using the electrical device for tattooing cosmetics and non-hypoallergenic ink that is much more invasive and leaves harsh lines.

  • What is permanent cosmetics and how long will it last?
Permanent cosmetics is the application of pigment color put into the skin.  The pigment will never wash off or smear, however the pigment may fade/soften in color through the years.  With the proper care it will hold good color for 2-5 yrs.  It won't be gone in 2-5 yrs but most people come for a touch/up appt to brighten or darken the pigment.

  • Is the procedure painful?
Softap is the most gentle of all the tattooing methods. A topical anesthetic is used to pre-numb the treatment area, then more topical is applied throughout the procedure. Most people say they feel very little during the procedure, however everyones pain tolerance is different and may have some slight discomfort.

  • How long is the recovery and do I need time off work?
Most people and procedures there is a 5-7 day healing time.  During this wk I will give you some ointment to keep on the treated area so that is stays protected and moist.  Some people have mild swelling that usually only last a day or two, most commonly on an eyeliner procedure.  No other makeup is to be worn in the treated area for 5 days, however keep in mind that you now have makeup on full time and you are not going anywhere without looking like you already applied your makeup.

You can go back to work immediately after the procedure if you choose to, some people choose to take the next day off after the procedure for the reason of some slight swelling(Most commonly referred to look as if you cried some and had some swelling around the lash area).
